Meet Jessica, Our New Digital Marketer + Project Manager

Hello, I’m Jessica Meldrum, the latest addition to the Murdoch Marketing team. I am a West Michigan native with a passion for all things related to communications. From working various roles in television, public relations, content creation, and marketing I have worn many hats thus far in my career. One thing that I love about working in the communications field is that in our fast-paced, technology-driven world; communications allows us to have a hand in many different areas.

After spending 17 years of my life pursuing a career as a professional ballet dancer, I begrudgingly hung up my pointé shoes to head off to college following some forceful persuasion from family members. Fast forward to present day, and I now have a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Grand Valley State University as well as a master’s degree in communications from Grand Valley. In addition to my role here at Murdoch, I also work as an adjunct professor in the communications department at GVSU where I am fortunate enough to pass along my passion for learning to the next generation of Laker students.

I love being involved in the community and I love animals, so I found a way to combine these passions by serving as a communications and publicity co-chairperson for Humane Society of West Michigan. In this role, I help plan and organize the annual Paws, Claws & Corks fundraising event along with a team of other PAWsome animal lovers. Did I mention that I try to sneak puns into my life as often as possible?

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Cody, and our six-year-old cat named Keiko Marie. I can usually be found practicing Vinyasa yoga, whipping up the latest healthy-ish food trend, or tackling some home renovation or interior design project (Hallelujah Pinterest!).

I am thrilled to bring my experience to this great team of creatives and to continue learning throughout the process!
